What is CHAS?
CHAS stands for Community Health Assist Scheme, an initiative by Singapore government that aims to improve access to primary healthcare services for lower- and middle-income individuals and families. CHAS Dental Service allows eligible individuals to receive subsidized dental treatments at participating dental clinics.

Subsidies for Dental Services
CHAS card's colour represents the subsidy tier for which cardholders are eligible. These tiers are Blue, Orange, and Green. In addition, Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) seniors receive special subsidies at CHAS participating dental clinics.
The fees that cardholders need to pay will depend on the clinic's charges after subtracting the CHAS subsidies. The fees will differ for each patient depending on their medical condition and the clinic's rates. The Difference between Merdeka and Pioneer Generation
Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation refer to groups of individuals who have made significant contributions to the nation.
Pioneer Generation refers to individuals born on or before 31 December 1949, who contributed to the nation's development in its early years, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s.
Merdeka Generation refers to individuals born between 1 January 1950 and 31 December 1959, who contributed to the nation's development in its early years and during the period of self-governance in the 1960s and 1970s.
Both the Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation packages aims at assisting seniors with their healthcare expenses, which include dental treatments.
